Is it Neurological? It is Muscular?....

During my early morning walks I often contemplate my physical condition and the restraints that I  received as a

result of my stroke. My gait, the steps that I take, my balance or lack thereof and the way my left arm reacts

when I move. All have affected and are noticeable especially by myself.

It is during this time with my dogs when I get a chance to ponder why? Not why me, as in a self pity party but in

attempting to understand the mechanics of it all. To better understand so I can work on improvement.

I understand the right side left side brain damage relationship. I realize that all things being equal that it would be

better to not have any brain damage or any damage to your body for that matter.

A new car will not perform as well after in has been in a major wreck nor will our bodies.

The thoughts that occur to me are how much of my affliction can be attributed neurologically and what percentage

is  physical due to lack of use, old age, arthritis, etc.

How much can I get back?

What can I do to improve?

Do I really want to know the absolute truth?

Is their an absolute truth?

Would the knowledge of how much that I am able to recover  help me or hinder me by lowering my expectations?

I guess the answer to the above is it depends.

It depends on many factors some of which we have control over and some of which we don't.

I can control my attitude and my will.

I will continue to search for ways to improve my condition. I will then do what it takes to do it and to share this

information.

My passion/purpose now is to help others by getting better myself, sharing what I discover and helping to

inspire others to do the same.

My goal then is to create a Synergy where we all learn, help, give and inspire each other.

Yes, strokes do suck. But their are things that we can do to improve our lives.

Start right now to be the best that you can be and show others so that they can do the same.
