Happy Thanksgiving
Actually as I write this it is the day before turkey day but I was reminded about my blessings today during my early morning walk/run.
Last night we had our first big rain of the year here in San Diego. We cherish our precious rain here like a mother hen guarding her
chicks. As it is so often after it rains this morning was just was just spectacular with the clouds and fresh clean air.
Part of my morning routine involves climbing on a huge pile of granite boulders in a secluded area. It is a great workout for me but
because of the inherent danger of falling I would not recommend this activity to anyone let alone another strokie.
I was careful though especially since the bottom of my already worn down sneakers were covered in slippery mud.
This gave me an opportunity to move slower than usual for safety reasons and also gave my the opportunity to sit and reflect for a while.
Life itself will certainly do it's part to present us with challenges and as varied as they may be none of us are immune to these.
It it these challenges however that make us stronger by pushing us to new heights of accomplishments that in their absence we
would have never been aware.
For this and many other blessings I give thanks this year. God bless you all and count your blessings.
