Migraines
According to a new study published on line by the British Medical Journal, migraines are linked to a higher risk of stroke. Women who suffer migraines during pregnancy are 15 times more likely to suffer a stroke.
In my case I was having severe headaches (I wasn't sure they were migraines) for several months preceding my stroke.
These would happen during the night and I attributed them to being overworked and stressed which was correct.
My solution was to take a couple of Excedrin migraine tablets which did give me relief usually within a half hour. Little did I realize at that time that the headaches were most likely caused by the pulsating pressure in my arteries caused by my untreated hypertension.
Imagine turning on your garden hose with the nozzle closed and leaving it to bask in the sun all day. Eventually the hose becomes weak and bursts because of the constant pressure.
My advice is to never allow any symptom like this go unchecked. it took me to have a stroke to realize this truth.
Please do not be as foolish as myself. Take care of your health before it is too late.
