Repost of Dr. Bob blog

Today is Fathers day.I started my day reading some of my early blog entries to help me with my book. Just the other day I posted the new website of Dr. Bob Guns which is www.strokerecoverynow.com

Here is Bob Miller's {me} post about Gr. Bob Gun's RAISE program. I highly recommend it for stroke survivors and caregivers alike.

I recently completed a three week study with a wonderful fellow Dr. Bob Guns, a fellow stroke survivor out of North Carolina. Bob put together a volunteer study that had the volunteers pick three tasks that we wanted to improve upon during the three week study.
The program is called the RAISE program

1.     Reflect

2.     Analyze

3.     Identify

4.     Start

5.     Evaluate

My tasks included carrying items in my affected left hand like a coffee cup and a plate and typing with my left hand.
During the three weeks of charting results I improved my abilities an average of 45%.

The study reaffirmed what I already knew, that if you want to improve in any activity you need to practice.

This is a universal truth and not just advice for us Strokies, it is just that as stroke survivors we need to work harder if we want to improve our current condition.

Dr. Bob is working on a handbook to be an aid for distribution through University research centers.

I am sure that I will provide further  information on the great work that Bob is doing as I am updated.

God Bless everyone
Bob Miller
