Take Bigger Steps
For three years now I have been taking small baby steps. I thank God that I was able to do even that. I am so fortunate and so grateful
for all of the blessings that have touched my life these past three years. For about the last two years during my morning workouts on
Fiesta Island I have been practicing my balance by climbing over boulders among other obstacles like long telephone poles and sand
dunes. Until this week I have been doing pretty much the same routine every day that I go there anywhere between two to five times a
week. This has been helpful as I have been able to gauge my progress as well as to alert me when things just aren't working well.
Believe me there have been plenty of those days. There have been very frustrating periods in the past two years wher I could swear
that my rehab was going in reverse. I chose not to focus or dwell on these times. That's just life that happens to us all. We all
experience our ups and downs.
What you focus on and believe in is true. And what you focus on expands are two of my favorite expressions.
Over all though which is the true gaug,, I am very happy to report that my recovery is nothing short of remarkable. I realize though that I
still have a long way to go though. This is why I have started taking a little different path with my boulder climbing. I have been climbing
the larger more difficult boulders. I am leaping between them increasing the distance and the level of difficulty a little more each time.
Besides the obvious physical and cardiovascular benefits, I am also relearning some valuable life lessons about taking risks.
As long as I don't fall and crack my head open I will continue to push myself.
A ship will never reach a distant shore unless it sets sail. Life is wonderful.
